ITANAGAR, Mar 23: The amount of cash seized across the state since the enforcement of the election model code of conduct has almost touched the Rs 1 crore mark.
The flying squads, the static surveillance teams and the police have seized Rs 18.27 lakhs from the capital region over the last couple of days, raising the total amount of cash seized within the capital region to Rs 48.59 lakhs, informed Capital SP Tumme Amo.
With the fresh seizures, the total amount of cash seized across the state, as per the record maintained by this daily, has risen to Rs 99.59 lakhs.
Apart from cash, the teams in the capital complex have also seized large quantities of liquor, besides 238 sharp weapons, two air guns, 14 live rounds for SBBL guns, 15 live rounds for .32 revolvers, and 5000 air gun pellets, informed Amo.
Two cases under Section 188 IPC have been registered at the Naharlagun police station and 525 are still pending, the SP said.
He also informed that that 61 non-bailable warrants have been issued till date, out of which seven have been executed.
Further, thousands of posters and banners defacing public and private properties have been removed or seized so far.
No cases of violation of the MV Act and the inner line permit have been found so far, Amo said.
The SP said the overall law and order situation in the capital complex is normal.
