ITANAGAR, May 10: The president of the Galo Welfare Society (GWS), Dr Minge Loyi, suffered a cardiac arrest while attending a meeting in Shillong, Meghalaya, recently.
Dr Loyi was in Shillong representing the Arunachal Indigenous Tribes’ Forum (AITF) at a meeting convened by the North East Forum for Indigenous People on 30 April to discuss issues pertaining to the people of the region.
Dr Loyi is currently undergoing treatment but is reported to be in a critical condition, according to a statement issued by the GWS and the AITF.
The organisations have appealed for prayers and support for Dr Loyi.
