DARKA, May 20: Aalo-based Ramakrishna Mission School (RKMS) on Monday distributed garments, including sweaters, to the people of Darka village in West Siang district.
Swamis Yogishwarananda, Ishananda and Uttarananda, along with brother Abhedachaintainya and RKMS staff, distributed the garments to the needy people of the village.
AVP’s ‘parichay varg’ held
Meanwhile, the district unit of the Arunachal Vikas Parishad (AVP) organized a ‘parichay varg’ camp at the government higher secondary school in Kamba from 14 to 19 May.
Thirty-four youths from Aalo, Bagra, Darak and Kamba circles took part in the six-day camp.
In his inaugural address, Donyi-Polo Government College Principal Dr Rejir Karlo exhorted the young participants to imbibe the spirit of keeping their culture alive.
On the closing day, former minister Lijum Ronya stressed on maintaining one’s culture and traditions, and lauded the role of the AVP in promoting local cultures.
Among others, district AVP general secretary Lee Sora, joint secretary Gomar Angu, president Tajen Podo, and AVP state organising secretary Suneel Kumar attended the function. (DIPRO)
