PASIGHAT, Jun 4: East Siang DC Kinny Singh said Pasighat would be developed to harness its tourism potential, which in turn would bring about economic development in the area.
Chairing a meeting of the Arunachal Tourism Society (ATS), East Siang, here on Monday, Singh said, “Pasighat, with its rich cultural heritage, historical and religious importance and scenic beauty, has the potential to emerge as one of the top tourist destinations in the state.”
She welcomed the suggestions offered by the members at the meeting, and said the administration is committed to extending all help in preparing strategies and plans for developing the Sirki waterfall, the trekking trail, a park, a meditation centre and a pilgrimage site at Dangoria Mandir, besides promoting homestay and other tourism-related activities.
District Tourism officer T Tatak presented the status and achievement report. He said the official website of the ATS will be launched shortly. (DIPRO)
