Puwak 11 thrash Langotia Yar FC, enter quarterfinals

JOLLANG, Jul 19: Puwak 11 on Friday defeated Langotia Yar FC 4-1 in a league match to enter the quarterfinals of the Jollang Super 16 Football Championship 2019 being played here.
Tassar Maha and Nabam Sonu of Puwak 11 scored a goal each in the 22nd and the 30th minute, and Phill Takar of Langotia Yar FC netted a goal in the 25th minute for his team in the first half of the match.
In the second half, Puwak 11 scored two more goals. Nabam Sonu netted another goal for his team in the 47th minute, and in the last minute of the match, Khyoda Maru of Puwak 11 scored another goal, taking the score to 4-1.
The second match, between Nyishi Ethnic Students’ of Arunachal and Abu Tadar SC, ended in a draw and both the teams have entered the quarterfinals.
In the third match, Lokam Brothers FC defeated Riang United 1-0.
Both the teams engaged in a tough fight to gain three points throughout the match, and the determining goal for Lokam Brothers FC was scored by Charu Kakum in the 75th minute of the match.
The championship is organized by the Ajing Arum Society in collaboration with the National Tobacco Control Programme and the Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society as an awareness campaign against HIV/AIDS and tobacco consumption.
Fourteen teams from across the state are participating in the championship.
