ITANAGAR, Jul 19: GHSS Nari (Lower Siang) trounced GHSS Pine Wood (Tirap) 17-0 in a league level match on Friday in the girls’ category of the state level Subroto Cup (U-17) Football Tournament being played here.
Gode Rolley scored the highest eight goals while Sumpi Jerang, Konika Marmon and Yorpi Jishi scored two goals each. Muskan Khatun, Toyin Riba and Bomyo Bam scored a goal each.
Five matches were played on the second day of the tournament, which is being conducted at the Dera Natung Government College and the Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic College playgrounds here.
The first match of the day was played between GHSS Sangram (Kurung Kumey) and GSS Motum (East Siang), which was won by GSS Motum 3-0. The win also secured the winner a place in the quarterfinals.
The scorers were Elazibet Nonang, Yanam Modi and Sabi Darin.
Dani Kunia GHSS (Lower Subansiri) beat GHSS Raga (Kamle) 4-0.
The winner took an early lead with Kago Assung scoring in the very first minute, followed by another goal, scored by Koj Onya, a minute later. The third and fourth goals were scored by Tamo Kunya.
In another match, GHSS Haiyuliang (Anjaw) defeated GHSS Jairampur (Changlang) 7-0. Roshni Manju scored five goals, and Amemlu Tamai scored two goals for the winning team.
The match played between GSS Pakam (West Siang) and GSS Rangalibeel (Namsai) ended in a goalless draw.
