CHANGLANG, Sep 24: Around 300 ASHAs, ANMs, supervisors, SSA teachers and anganwadi workers are participating in a three-day training programme on ‘Early identification and rehabilitation for disability intervention and identification and assessment camp for persons with intellectual disabilities’, which got underway here on Tuesday.
The programme, which is being organised by Secunderabad (Telangana)-based National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID), was inaugurated by Changlang DC RK Sharma.
At least 60 divyangjans were assessed and certified by a medical board comprising psychologists from the NIEPID, psychiatrist Dr Ibom Bagra, and Dr Tangjang on the first day.
Among others, ICDS DD Liknem Limhun Singpho and DMO Dr CL Manchey attended the inaugural function.
The programme will conclude on 26 September in Miao. (DIPRO)
