JANG, Sep 27: Members of NGOs, along with HoDs and others participated in a ‘legal awareness camp-cum-workshop’ conducted here in Tawang district by the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) on Friday.
Resource person Techi Hunmai spoke on various issues relating to women and children, and the APSCW’s legal advisor, Karmu Chotten, spoke on the need for registration of marriages, and on laws relating to women.
Tawang SP SS Kalsi apprised the participants of the POCSO Act.
Jang CHC SDMO, Dr Rinchen Neema, stressed the need for carrying out better campaigns on health issues like breast cancer, menstrual hygiene and cervical cancer, and APSWC member Likha Joya dwelt on various topics, including the Prevention of Women from Domestic Violence Act.
APSWC Vice Chairperson H Tawsik also spoke.
Earlier, APSWC Chairperson Radhilu Chai Techi interacted with the women participants regarding the issues they face. (DIPRO)
