ITANAGAR, Sep 28: Altogether 130 students from different schools participated in an essay writing competition organised by the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) here on Saturday as part of its weeklong celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
APCC president Nabam Tuki and MLA Ninong Ering, both of whom attended the event, spoke on the thoughts and virtues of Mahatma Gandhi and his contributions towards nation-building.
“Mahatma Gandhi is a non-perishable ideology. He is a service to the man standing last in the queue. He is the consciousness, thought process and leadership that brought India its freedom,” said Ering.
The prizes will be awarded to the winners on 2 October.
