ITANAGAR, Oct 1: Governor BD Mishra has conveyed his warm greetings to the people of the state on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
He was hopeful that “the occasion would inspire all to follow the ideals of Gandhi, who, throughout his life, stood for truth, non-violence and peace.”
In his message, the governor said that the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi continue to remain relevant even today.
“His vision for the nation and his dream for the community as a whole still hold good for India. Gandhiji also considered cleanliness next to godliness and called sanitation more important than political freedom,” the governor said.
“On this special occasion, let us join our hands together to instil the instinct of cleanliness in our children so that cleanliness becomes a tradition in India. Let us also pledge to follow the path of truth and non-violence and dedicate ourselves to achieve universal goodwill, tolerance and harmony,” the governor appealed to the people. (PRO to Raj Bhavan)
