ITANAGAR, Nov 12: Executive members of Don Bosco Alumni (DBA) Dimapur Provincial Federation have resolved to keep alive the charism of Don Bosco for economically poor and backward young people and children in its annual general meeting held at DBYC, Vivek Vihar here recently.
Interacting with the delegates as senior Alumni, Takam Sanjoy made many suggestions to keep alive the Association and to continue with all the youth and poor-friendly activities which are the hallmark of Don Boscoand Salesians. He opined that every DB Alumnus must feel obliged to pay back the society and young people for the education they have received due to the generosity of others. Sanjoy also assured all assistance to DBA in carrying out it’s humanitarian activities.
Speaking at the occasion DBA Provincial President, Rajesh Singh, who is also the President of Lions Club, Dibrugarh, gave an overview of DBA. He called upon the delegates to concentrate on the charism of Don Bosco and take up activities for young people, especially those at risk and poor children.
During group discussion, the delegates suggested to take up activities in the field of education, health and guidance and counseling to the youth, women and children. A suggestion was also made by DBA Arunachal, to take up the running of Don Bosco Literacy Centre, under DBYC in which about 300 poor children in the age group of 4 to 14 are provided free education in classes Nursury to IV.
Fr. C. M. Joseph, former Provincial Delegate, Fr. Mathai, Parish Priest, Itanagar and Fr. Cyriac, Provincial Delegate for DBA also spoke on the occasion and interacted with the members.
The DBA Dimapur Provincial Federation consists of Arunachal, Upper Assam, Nagaland and Manipur. The meeting organized by DBA Arunachal Pradesh was participated by DBA executive members from its various units.
