ITANAGAR, Jan 14: The All Itanagar Youth Welfare Association in a representation to the additional district magistrate (ADM) here on Tuesday sought strict action against unknown persons involved in illegal earth-cutting and encroachment on forest department land in Mowb-II, near the trijunction of the old CM bungalow and Senki View.
The association also claimed that the unknown persons have illegally opened several shops on the encroached plot.
“It is surprising that such illegal activities are taking place in the said area. It clearly shows some people’s blatant disregard for the law,” it said, and sought the ADM’s early intervention in the matter.
The association demanded that the authorities book the persons concerned under relevant sections of the law.
