ITANAGAR, Feb 11: The All Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Service Contractors Welfare Society in a representation to the transport secretary on Tuesday sought early sanctioning of five Sumo taxis for the Itanagar/Naharlagun-Koloriang, -Damin, -Parsi-Parlo, -Sarli and -Sangram route.
The organisation said commuters have been facing serious problems following the disruption of the state transport bus/Sumo taxi service in those areas for many years now.
“In the absence of state transport bus/Sumo service, people have to depend on private Sumo service, which often charge excess fare from the passengers,” it said, and urged the secretary to initiate urgent steps in this regard in the larger interest of the people.
