ITANAGAR, Sep 9: A total of 185 cases, including 87 pre-litigation and 98 pending civil, criminal and other cases were disposed and total compensation of Rs 1,39,44,881 to the litigants was settled during the Lok Adalats held state-wide on Saturday on the occasion of National Lok Adalat Day.
During the Lok Adalats, a total of 1583 cases consisting of criminal, pre-litigation and civil and other cases were listed for hearing of which only 185 cases were disposed of.
Various legal services authorities in the state through the involvement of District & Session Courts with their presiding judges of Yupia and Tezu, Additional District & Session Courts with their presiding judges at Basar and Bomdila, Chief Judicial Magistrates Courts with their presiding judges of Seppa, Roing, Yupia, Aalo and Ziro, Judicial Magistrates First Class courts with their presiding judges at Daporijo, Khonsa, Yupia, Yingkiong and Tawang conducted their Lok Adalats within their respective premises wherein the litigants participated in large numbers.
In Bomdila, the same day, 32 of the 90 cases taken up were disposed of during a day-long Lok Adalat held under the chairmanship of Additional District and Session Judge Bomdila, Gote Mega at the District Court complex.
