SEPPA, Mar 13: East Kameng DC Gaurav Singh Rajawat has directed the block education officers (BEO), block resource coordinators (BRC) and cluster resource coordinators (CRC) of the district to “intensify visits to the schools of their respective blocks and clusters” and submit their inspection reports before the 25th of every month.
The DC said this during a review meeting of the district’s education development committee here on Friday.
BEO Ashing Lamgu informed that 153 teachers were found to be absent from their places of posting during surprise inspections carried out from December 2019 to February 2020.
“Their salaries and allowances were converted into ‘no work, no pay’ for the numbers of days that they were absent, as per the ISSE’s contractual norms,” Lamgu informed in a release.
He said the salaries of 11 BEOs, BRCs and CRCs and 13 regular teachers were held up from December 2019 to February 2020 “for non-compliance with the government order.”
DDSE Kata Rangmo was also present at the meeting.
