ITANAGAR, Mar 22: The Galo Welfare Society (GWS) has informed that it has postponed this year’s Mopin festival celebration in view of the government’s advisory vis-à-vis the Covid-19 pandemic.
Following a meeting held here on Sunday, the GWS advised cancellation of all cultural, sports and other competitive events which were to be organized as part of the festival “in entire Galo Gumin.”
It said a review meeting will be held on 7 April to take stock of the situation.
The meeting, which was chaired by minister Tumke Bagra, was attended by members of the Mopin Preservation Committee, Itanagar, and the Naharlagun Mopin Management and Preservation Committee.
