CHANGLANG, Apr 1: In view of the shortage of vegetables due to the Covid-19 lockdown, some SHGs, natural resource management groups [NaRMG] and farmers-producers organizations [FPO] from the foothills areas here have decided to supply their home-grown organic vegetables to different parts of Changlang district.
About 20 quintals of vegetables produced by the Udondi Belaw Sadak SHG Federation (composed of 26 SHGs), the Riveng NaRM-G Association from Diyun (promoted by the NERCORMP), and FPOs promoted by the NABARD were provided to the people here on Wednesday at prices fixed by the district administration.
The NERCORMP-Changlang and its partner NGOs, AMYAA, Arunachal Vikas Parishad and Green Lawn Society, assisted these rural institutions in maintaining the official formalities and in transportation and distribution of vegetables in conformity with the government’s safety guidelines and local-specific precautionary measures.
Changlang DC RK Sharma and Bordumsa ADC Devansh Yadav commended the village-level groups for their support and cooperation in this time of crisis.
