RUKSIN, Apr 1: In order to discourage unruly movement of light vehicles in the interstate boundary area and rush at the oil depot here in East Siang district, the local administration has regulated the operation of M/s Agam Auto Agency, the sole oil depot in the area.
Ruksin ADC Kabit Apang in an order issued on Wednesday directed the depot owner not to issue fuel to the general public during the lockdown period.
The subdivision’s administration had earlier reported that youths from Jonai in nearby Assam regularly entered into Arunachal’s territory through the interstate link roads other than the Ruksin check gate to refill their vehicles, in defiance of the lockdown order.
“Unauthorized entry of outsiders through the porous boundary is violation of the lockdown order. Such movement by the public not only defeats the purpose of the lockdown but also poses serious threat to the safety of the citizens,” the order read.
The executive order, in force from Wednesday, warns that any violation of the magisterial order may invite legal action under Section 188 IPC.
