ROING, Apr 15: Lower Dibang Valley district is all set for the second phase of the lockdown till 3rd May, 2020 with people obeying the rules of the lockdown and maintaining social distancing norms.
It was also informed that free 5 kgs of food grain per month to all PHH and AAY ration card holders, for three months, under the National Food Security Act for the month of April will be distributed along with the normal quota of rice to ration card holders from 17 April during the rice days set in the district.
The administration is also going to hold a meeting with elected representatives, CBOs, NGOs, student organisations and others to discuss the modalities that have been worked out to accommodate and quarantine the returnees.
One isolation centre with a capacity of 14 beds has also been set up.
Till date, there are 247 people under home quarantine, of which 211 have completed 14 days of quarantine and have been asked to undergo further 14 days of quarantine. There are 13 people under facility quarantine in the district. Fifteen quarantine facilities have also been identified in the district with a capacity to accommodate 830 persons for the period after the lockdown is lifted.
Under economic welfare measures, support of 5 kgs rice and 1 kg pulse from the SDRF fund for those who have lost their livelihoods or are stranded during the lockdown have been provided to 462 persons till now. These are people who do not hold ration cards.
Fifty-three persons have been provided shelter in a relief camp set up here with all necessary basic needs being arranged by the district administration.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Samman Yojana of providing Rs 2000 to beneficiaries on a quarterly basis, a total of 5513 beneficiaries have been identified in the district with 4133 receiving the first installment, 3660 receiving the second installment, 1423 receiving the third installment and 11 of them receiving the fourth installment.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, a total of 6230 women beneficiaries under SBI, Roing have been provided an amount of Rs 500 till 6 April. Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, a total of 19709 PHH and 3344 AAY beneficiaries have been provided with benefits.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yoyana, of the 2209 beneficiaries in the district, 65 beneficiaries have been provided free filled LPG cylinders and for the rest a process of transferring the amount into their bank accounts is underway.
The district administration had already appointed nodal officers for tracking and observing people under home quarantine; started home delivery of essential ration commodities; appointed medical officers and ASHA workers for educating the people about the disease and rules to follow, and directed construction agencies and contractors to feed the labourers under them.
