Cake controversy continues to receive criticism from Congress quarters

ITANAGAR, Aug 28: The cake cutting episode involving top BJP leaders continues to receive sharp criticism from Congress quarters with the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Arunachal Pradesh demanding resignation of Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr Mohesh Chai on moral grounds for allegedly showing disrespect to the national flag and map.
The Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress and Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee also vehemently condemned the alleged act of cutting a cake inscribed with tri-color and Indian map by Rijiju, Mein and Chai during a party programme on August 24 and termed it as great insult to the national honour.
The NSUI, the student wing of the INC demanded the Governor and Chief Minister to take necessary action against the BJP leaders.
