JERIGAON, Aug 29: The Arunachal Vikas Parishad (AVP) has felicitated 74 priests of the Sartang community of West Kameng district in a felicitation function held at Jerigaon on Monday.
Addressing the function, Bomdila EAC, Sang Khandu emphasized on permanent solution to the problems faced by the priest community, who are working hard for the wellbeing of the society. He also advised the people to give more importance to education of their children.
Stressing on the need of proper use of government fund and implementation of schemes, the EAC further exhorted everyone to serve the nation in their best capacity.
Earlier, Joint Organizing Secretary of Kalyan Ashram North East Zone, Sandeep Kavishwar explained about the aims and objectives of AVP, saying that AVP or Kalyan Ashram is working with the motto of promoting oneness, patriotism and all-round development of tribal communities.
Through this felicitation programme, AVP is trying to make people aware of the importance of indigenous tradition and culture, he said.
The priest community of Salari, Jerigaon, Khoina, Rahung, Darbu, Warjong, Khoitam, Dungchang and nearby villages and gaon burahs, Anchal Samiti members and Gram Panchayat members of the area attended the programme.
