Be an active participant in ‘Mission New India’: Governor

ITANAGAR, Aug 30: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, P B Acharya called upon the people to be active participants in ‘Mission New India’.
He was addressing a public meeting at Changlang district in his third leg of district tour on Wednesday. He exhorted all the members of the society to be united and stand against corruption, drug menace and other social evils.
Emphasizing on promotion of the indigenous culture and traditions, the Governor urged upon the people to be proud of the cultural heritage. He also stressed on preservation of indigenous dialects and faiths.
The Governor advised the people to avail maximum benefit from central flagship programme, particularly Jan DhanYojana and One Rupee Insurance.
Speaking on the occasion, the elected representatives requested the Governor for his assistance in providing a Sainik School, de-addiction center and tourism circuit. They also briefed him of refugee issues, militancy, AFSPA and the Act East Policy.
Besides public of the area, representatives of business community, community leaders, local legislators and government officials were also present on the occasion.
Later, the Governor also met the district heads of departments and advised them to be sincere and dedicated in their duties. (PRO to Governor)
