Former ZPM Deben Morang no more

PASIGHAT, Sep 6: Former Zilla Parishad Member (ZPM) of 48-Lekang (ST) constituency, Deben Morang passed away in a private hospital at Dibrugarh in Assam on Tuesday last after a prolonged illness.
Born in March, 1938 at Namsai, Morang was elected as first ZPM soon after introduction of Panchayati Raj in Arunachal Pradesh. He was associated with numerous social and cultural organizations.
The octogenarian is survived by his two sons, two daughters and grandchildren.
Meanwhile, the Namsai and Lohit district units of ABK and Adi Mising Baane on Wednesday deeply mourned his demise and prayed to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul.
ABK Namsai unit president, James Badu and AMBK president Rajen Naroh in a message termed Morang’s demise as an irreparable loss to the society.
