PASIGHAT, Sep 9: Mutlokong Damin, the longest serving Head Gaon Burah (HGB) of Silluk village under Mebo Sub-Division passed away at his native village on Friday after a prolonged illness. Late Damin is survived by his wife and three children.
Father of Silluk ASM, Delem Damin, Late Mutlokong Damin was born on 1st September, 1929 at Lukku (the old Siluk village in the upper hill). Late Damin was nominated as ASM of the village for two consecutive terms from 1971-76 during the NEFA era. Later, he was appointed as GB on 7 April, 1980. Late Damin was also a well known orator and renowned ‘Kebang Abu’ of Adi community.
Mebo MLA cum advisor to Chief Minister, Lombo Tayeng, former MLA, Ralom Borang, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Yemling Tayeng, ZPMs Mebo Banggo, Oling Perme and Ato Nungkir Odong Kebang members have deeply mourned the demise of Damin.
