NAMSAI, Sep 18: In all, 47 trainees along with gaon burahs, ASMs of Naputia and Alubari villages attended a two-day long farmers’ training programme on ‘Integrated Farming System’, organised by KVK Namsai under the ICAR-RC for NEH region, Basar, under Chongkham circle in Namsai district on Sunday last.
During the training, Senior Scientist cum Head in-charge of KVK, Namsai, Dr D Sasmal highlighted on organic farming, implementation of agricultural tools to minimize the labour cost and correlated programmes with ATMA.
He encouraged the trainees to come forward and avail the advantage of such training programmes under KVK and to develop model farm on integrated farming system.
In the farmers training session, SMS (Horticulture), Ph Chandramoni Singh imparted training on rabi crop cultivation and demonstrated the method of treatment of ginger.
The farmers were provided fungicide, insecticide and plant hormones, besides wheel hoe-cum-seeder machine to minimize the labour cost and to popularize scientific farming.
The programme was held under the supervision of Senior Scientist cum Head in-charge of KVK, Namsai, Dr Sasmal, and with the sponsorship of ATMA at Naputia village.
