ITANAGAR, Sep 20: Monmaya Sonar, a class V student of Manjushree Shiksa Niketan of Bomdila has made the state proud by winning the National Swachh Bharat award for painting, organized under the ‘Swachh Sankalp Se Swachh Siddhi’, celebrated from August 16 to September 15.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted about it and shared the painting of Monmaya Sonar in his twitter handle.
Organized by the PHE & WS Division Bomdila, the department informed that she had earlier won the second position (primary level) during a district level essay and painting competition conducted on September 8 last for the students of West Kameng district as per direction from the Ministry of Drinking water and Sanitation.
Her painting was then forwarded to the Ministry for the National level Swachh Bharat award selections.
Meanwhile, PHE&WS Chief Engineer, Toko Jyoti has expressed happiness over the news and informed that state government will also award Monmaya Sonar on October 2 during the culmination of Swacchta Hi Sewa campaign.
