DAPORIJO, Sep 21: The All Arunachal Teachers’ Association (AATA) of Upper Subansiri district unit urged higher authorities to extend the time for transfer, claiming that the mass rationalization of teachers in the middle of the academic session in the district has created several problems, primarily, completion of syllabus.
In a release, the AATA district unit informed that many teachers are on the verge of superannuation and some of the teachers have not completed even three years in their present posting place, and have been transferred.
It also claimed that the ratio of the teachers being transferred has not been properly scrutinised, which has lead to shortage of teachers in several secondary and higher secondary schools in the district, while many female teachers have been transferred to places which require at least two to three days to reach.
“Under such circumstances, students would be the worst sufferers in mid school session”, it added.
The AATA district unit appealed to higher authorities to extend the time for transfer, preferably till the vacation session of schools begin, so that students are not affected.
