DOIMUKH, Sep 25: The Rajiv Gandhi University National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell marked the NSS Day by organizing an orientation programme for the NSS volunteers.
RGU Vice Chancellor Professor Tamo Mibang shared the idea of ‘Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’, under which villages have been adopted by the RGU, which involves active participation of students.
He informed that the NSS Park with Natural Museum is being set up in the University campus for meaningful asset creation. He also encouraged volunteers to be involved in the Swachh Bharat campaign and take up innovative ideas to keep the campus clean.
NSS Programme Officer Gomar Basar informed of the various opportunities provided under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, while NSS programme officers John Gangmei and Dr Vivek Singh shared about the activities and achievements of the past one year and future initiatives.
The volunteers also conducted ‘shramdaan’ under Swachta Hi Sewa campaign in the NSS Park and adjoining areas.
