ITANAGAR, Oct 3: Health and Family Welfare Special Secretary cum MD (NHM) Dr. Tapasya Raghav along with Nodal Officer (NUHM), Dr. R Dodum has monitored and supervised the 10 health facilities of Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit and Namsai districts. During her visit Dr. Raghav got the detailed information about the functioning of all the components of NHM from SC to DH levels and also personally looked into the immunization plans made by the health facilities.
During her visit she pointed out various lacunae in the functioning including essential drugs & supplies, service delivery, referral linkages and record keeping in facilities. She also interacted with the ASHAs at facility centres and enquired about their performance and incentives. She further appreciated the active involvement of MO in-charge of CHC Sunpura and PHC Lathao which has increased the performance of their respective facilities.
While appreciating the quality of food being supplied to patients of DH Tezu, she gave suggestions to improve the same further.
During district level review meetings which were conducted at DH Roing, DH Tezu and CHC Namsai separately for the three districts along with district functionaries, she urged the field staff to work hard and conduct intensive and regular monitoring in order to improve the health scenario of their districts.
Findings of the health facilities and various other issues pertaining to NHM programme were also discussed and directions were given for the solutions.
During her review meeting she asked the DMO Namsai to issue show cause notice to absentee and non-performing NHM staffs of the district. She directed all the DMOs to pay all the monetary benefits of pregnant mother (JSY, JSSK) and ASHAs incentives through DBT. Responsibilities were fixed upon the district and block level concerned staffs to visit the health facilities as per NHM guidelines. They were also asked to do convergence meetings with ICDS and other departments at their own levels.
