ITANAGAR, Oct 15: The songs and trailer for the upcoming movie “Yamii” was released in a function at a town hotel, Naharlagun Saturday.
The film is based on story of two tribes of the state–Nyishi and Apatani. The releasing ceremony was attended by senior members of Nyishi Elite Society (NES) and Tanw Supun Dukun (TSD).
NES General secretary Heri Maring praised the efforts of the filmmaker and team for promoting communal harmony in the society. He urged the filmmakers and producers of the state to make more such films.
“Inter-community interaction in a common platform can go a long way in strengthening the cordial relation among the people of various tribes and communities,” he said. The NES leader also encouraged inter-tribe marriage to promote unity among the community members.
Echoing the feelings of the NES General Secretary, TSD General Secretary Tapi Tai appealed to all to spread the special message of the film in every society.
The film is our humble effort to promote communal harmony and ignite the feelings of oneness among the members of the two communities in particular, said Jikke Tania, Project Advisor.
Earlier, Maring felicitated all the crew members of the film.
