ITANAGAR, Oct 16: A SSA teacher identified as Dengge Apang of Ramsing under Jengging circle in Upper Siang district has allegedly raped a minor on Sept 27. The girl is student of class VI and is a relative of the accused.
The incident reportedly occurred on September 27 night when the wife was away from home at Yingkoing. A case was registered with PS Yingkoing under POSCO Act 2012.
Superintendent of Police Upper Siang Amulya Barua has confirmed that as per the medical report, it was rape. However, SP added that the police are waiting the forensic report for further action.
Further, SP disclosed that Investigation Officer Angge Miyu has failed to produce the status report of case. SP assured that he would ensure that IO submits the case diary at earliest.
The alleged accused has already got anticipatory bail from Pasighat Session Court on 10 October. The next hearing is fixed on 27th October.
Angered by the reported incident, the Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society and Adi Baane Kebang, Women Wing of Upper Siang district has strongly condemned the incident.
The organisations expressed displeasure at police authority for letting the alleged accused get away with the crime. It further appealed to the police authority to investigate the matter properly so that accused is given punishment as per law.
