ITANAGAR, Oct 17: The Arunachal Pradesh Anti Corruption Andolan Committee (APACAC) demanded that all the Tibetan refugees that have illegally acquired Indian citizenship and are seeking benefits under the ST quota should surrender their citizenship at the earliest.
It claimed that those Tibetan refugees, who have illegally acquired citizenships, have also got huge plots of lands allotted in their names.
The Tibetan refugees, who are functioning under the Government of Arunachal Pradesh by fraudulently using the ST quota, should also resign immediately, demanded the APACAC.
The Committee stated there would be no requirement of the Department of Karmik and Adhyatmik Affairs and the Department of Tirap Changlang and Longding (DOTCL) after creation of the Department of Indigenous Faith and Cultural Affairs (DIFCA).
“If the Government has decided to create a department for indigenous faith and culture then the Department of Karmik and Adhyatmik Affairs and the DOTCL should immediately stop functioning separately as the creation of the DIFCA will include the two departments,” it said.
Stating that Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein should take the responsibility and charge of only one department, the APACAC further demanded that all the parliamentary secretaries should immediately step down from their respective posts.
“Further, all the non-ST individuals, who are using the titles of tribal women after marrying them and availing the facilities under the ST quota, should immediately stop doing so,” the APACAC added.
