ITANAGAR, Oct 20: The People’s Forum 12th Pakke-Kessang Assembly Constituency, in a representation to Election Commission of India (ECI) appealed to issue fresh and re-notification for conduct of by-election to Pakke-Kessang Assembly Constituency.
The seat fell vacant after the Court declared null and void the election of former deputy chief minister Kameng Dolo from the said constituency in March 15, 2014.
The Election Commission had cancelled the By-Election scheduled for July 29 this year following reports from Chief Electoral Officer and the Chief Secretary, Arunachal Pradesh citing adverse weather condition.
Stating that the constituency has been without a representative for the last eight months since February 8 this year thereby hampering in all development activities, the Society appealed to the ECI to immediately notify the bye-poll to the constituency.
