NAMSAI, Oct 22: A district level workshop on CM’s Adarsh Gram Yojna was held at Namsai on October 20.
Attending the workshop, Deputy Commissioner, R K Sharma requested all stakeholders to prioritize need based development proposals to avoid creation of assets without much use as has been noticed in many instances.
The DC categorically stated that formulation of proper Village Development Plan based on credible data on various parameters is a pre-requisite to transform a village into a model village.
Addressing the participants, Parliamentary Secretary, Planning Chau Zingnu Namchoom, elaborated the genesis of CMs Adarsh Gram Yojna. He advised the PRI members and BDOs to undertake baseline survey in true spirit so that proper Village Development Age-nda can be formulated. He assured to converge other schemes, including MLALAD into the progra-mme to some extent.
District Planning Officer in-charge Dr K Sarmah elaborated on various aspects of survey and planning and strategy to be adopted in Adarsh Gram Yojna through PowerPoint presentation. Various formats developed for survey and planning of Adarsh Gram were also made available to implementing authority and PRI members.
The workshop was attended by all BDOs, ZPMs, Anchal Samiti Chairperson of Lekang, Namsai & Chongk-ham and ASMs & GPCs of three adopted villages.
Earlier on the day, another workshop on Public Finance Management System (PFMS) for DDOs and heads of offices was also held in collaboration with ICICI bank
Inaugurating the workshop, DC R K Sharma informed that all CSS is now mandated through PFMS which will give real time data pertaining to implementation, utilization of funds with full transparency. The workshop was conducted by officials of PFMS cell of ICICI Banks Gauhati, Assam.
