DARAK, Oct 23: Youths of Darak Village of West Siang district were imparted training on various aspects of fish culture to help them improve their socio-economic conditions during a day-long programme, which was organized by the Young Mission Adventure Club (YMAC) a capital-based NGO on Saturday last.
Sponsored by the NABARD Regional Office, Itanagar, under promotion and training of Farmers Club, field demonstration and regional exhibition were also held.
District Fishery Development Officer, Kenbom Chisi, Senior Fishery Officer, Moge Nacho and staff of Fisheries Department, Aalo West Siang as resource persons explained about the importance of fish culture and demonstrated the techniques of fish breeding, catalyst-inducing technical methods of fishery for farming, food and varieties of technology etc.
They also distributed fish feeds to the participants and advised them to desist from blasting and using chemical substance in the river.
