Chakma students’ appeal against AAPSU demand on APPSCCE

ITANAGAR, Oct 27: The Arunachal Pradesh Chakma Students’ Union (APCSU) today appealed to Chief Minister Pema Khandu not to take any decision to illegally remove the names of four Chakma aspirants from the list of eligible candidates for the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examinations (APPSCCE) scheduled for November 26.
The appeal has come in the backdrop of the demand made by All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) on Thursday for the immediate removal of the four Chakma aspirants from the list.
“As citizens of India and domicile of Arunachal Pradesh, the Chakmas and Hajongs have every right to sit in any competitive examinations conducted by the Union of India, State Governments or any other public authority subject to fulfillment of the prescribed eligibility conditions,” APCSU said in a statement.
The Chakma students’ body clarified that all the four students are citizens of India by birth under the Citizenship Act, 1955 and are therefore eligible for sitting in the said examination under General Category.
