ATPWDS to go ahead with 36-hr bandh call

ITANAGAR, Oct 29: The Aalo Town Public Welfare & Development Society (ATPWDS) has decided to go ahead with its proposed 36-hour bandh on October 30 and 31 from 5 AM after the recent meeting held with the government representatives headed by Divisional Commissioner (West) Gamli Padu and representatives of T K Engineering Consortium Ltd failed to arrive at any logical conclusion about the construction and maintenance of the work from Tai to Gabu section of Aalo-Bam road.
On Saturday, taking serious cognizance of the protest by the ATPWDS on the deplorable road condition, Chief Secretary Satya Gopal, in an emergency meeting, had formed a committee headed by the Divisional Commissioner (West), instructing the committee to hold talks with the stakeholders to resolve the impasse.
