ITANAGAR, Oct 29: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell, Rajiv Gandhi University, under “Swachhta hi Seva” campaign launched ‘Clean and Green Campus’ programme on October 28.
Professor Kesang Degi, Dean of Student Welfare launched the programme by planting a tree in the NSS Park cum Living Museum.
Around 85 NSS volunteers and faculty members actively participated in the cleanliness drive.
Under this programme, cleanliness drives will be organized in all departments, administrative branches, hostels, health centre and staff colonies for a month and the cleanest compound will be awarded.
Meanwhile, the Nepali Sanskriti Suraksha Parishad (NSSP) East Siang and Pasighat Municipal Council jointly organized a mass cleanliness drive from fish market area to judicial jail, Pasighat on Sunday.
The PMC provided vehicles for lifting garbage.
Over 300 members of NSSP and sanitation staff of the PMC actively participated in the cleanliness drive, which was also joined by the PMC Chief Councilor and Deputy Chief Councilor.
