Govt to adopt investor friendly industrial policy: CM

PASIGHAT, Nov 3: The state government will formulate an investor friendly industrial policy for development of the industry sector, said Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
The existing industrial policy will be reviewed and a new policy adopted to boost the industry sector, said Pema while inaugurating the ‘Elam Industries’ run by retired Group Captain (IAF) Mohonto Panging at Gumin Nagar here on Friday.
The Chief Minister said that the North East Industrial Policy was under consideration of NITI Aayog and it is looking for formulation of a modified industrial policy for the region.
The central government is taking all steps to bring an industrial revolution in the region, he said.
Responding to a three-point memorandum submitted by retired captain Panging, the Chief Minister assured to develop the power supply system to his industrial units.
Among others, MP Ninong Ering, Mebo MLA cum CM’s political adviser Lombo Tayeng, Nari-Koyu MLA Kento Rina and state BJP president Tapir Gao were also present in the inauguration.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly built Circle Office building at Namsing under Mebo sub-division.
Addressing a public meeting there, Pema assured sufficient fund for development of roads, bridges and rural infrastructure in Mebo sub-division. He gave spot sanctioning of Rs 5 crore for development activities.
He further assured to send a special team of experts to inspect Tarotamak riverside to take immediate and suitable flood control measures.
