Damin, Nov 7: Kurung Kumey Deputy Commissioner, K Darang, along with a team of officials conducted a three-day tour to Damin area from November 2 to 4 and reviewed various development activities under Damin circle.
During his visit, the DC reviewed some of the schemes under the DC’s untied funds which he sanctioned during last year’s 2016-2017 tour. The schemes included construction of community hall at Ruba, extension of classroom at Kopila Residential School, kitchen shed at Paniasang Residential School and construction of bathroom and toilet in circle office quarter, and electrical wiring of Damin CO office.
The DC also visited secondary school and KGBV Girls’ School at Damin and interacted with the teachers and students. Secondary School, Damin has been selected for model school under BADP-2017-2018.
This year also some schemes under DC’s untied fund were sanctioned, which included construction of toilets for KGBV Girl’s School, Damin; supply of cots and furniture for Residential School Kopila and maintenance of WRSB at Damin.
During his visit, the DC handed over money to the beneficiaries for construction of individual household latrines (IHHL) under SBM. With the completion of construction of IHHL in Damin circle Kurung Kumey district has achieved the status of open defecation free (ODF) district in terms of IHHL coverage as per Base Line Survey (BLS) 2012.
He also reviewed the geo-tagging of projects under MGNREGA by BDO staffs of Damin CD block. He assured to look into shortage of PDS ration items at Damin.
The DC, along with his team had to undertake eight hours footmarch to cover 35kms from Hogu camp to Damin. He has assured to take up the matter of road connectivity with BRO authorities and government for early completion of Damin road.
