KANUBARI, Nov 7: Addressing the villagers of Banfera under Kanubari circle on Monday, APSCIT & e-Governance Chairman cum MLA Gabriel Denwang Wangsu called upon the villagers to settle down at the foothill areas for sustainable economic development.
Wangsu, who was on a month-long tour to his constituency to take stock of the development activities, also visited the new settlement areas of Wunli, Laho and Pamtingshe under Banfera, the paramount village of Kanubari.
Wangsu informed the villagers that one of the new settlements at Pamtingshe has been electrified and water supply was also sanctioned. Other settlement areas would also be provided with basic amenities, he said while assuring all assistance for the development and growth of the new villages.
Cost of development is cheaper and the scopes for livelihood activities are aplenty in foothill areas, he said during a series of interactions with Chief Panwang Wangham, leaders and elders of Banfera village.
The MLA stressed that all the new settlements must be officially recognized and enlisted as census villages. He urged the villagers to voluntarily provide land in each of these villages for setting up schools and other infrastructure. The new settlement areas located all along the Trans-Arunachal Highway has abundant land for taking up plantation of cash crops and are close to water sources.
Earlier, Wangsu met the Banfera village authorities and settled a dispute related to construction of a new school building and assured that the new structure would be constructed after proper land development without any compromise on quality. He further called for giving free hand to the executing agency and thoroughly monitoring the construction processes.
Later in a meeting with the officers on Tuesday, the MLA strongly urged upon the departments to coordinate and work out plans for formal inauguration of the new villages after receipt of traditional sanction from the Banfera Village Council. (DIPR)
