ITANAGAR, Nov 7: The zonal rounds of the 16th Tadar Tang State Level Football Champion will be kicked off at Tezu, Lohit on November 8.
The entire state has been divided into six zones with winners and runners up of each zone qualifying for the final rounds of the championship scheduled to held at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Naharlagun from December 9 to 23.
Zone-1 comprises Lohit, Lower Dibang Valley, Dibang Valley and Anjaw and Zone -2 is made up of Lower Subansiri, Kurung Kumey, Kra Daadi and Upper Subansiri.
East Siang, West Siang, Upper Siang and Siang have been placed in Zone-4, Papum Pare, Capital Complex and APP in Zone-5. Namsai and Longding are in Zone-6.
East Kameng from Zone-3 and Namsai and Longding from Zone-6 have made direct entry into the final rounds after Tawang and West Kameng (of Zone-3) and Changlang (Zone-6) were made ineligible to take part in the championship due to non-existence/ non-formation District Football Association.
The APFA imposed one year ban on Tirap district team last year, making the team ineligible to be a part of the championship this year.
Lower Subansiri will host the Zone -2 matches from November 28 to 30 at Ziro, while Aalo, West Siang and Capital Complex will host the Zone-4 (Nov 27-29) and Zone-5 (Nov 29- Dec 1) matches.
The 16th edition of the Tadar Tang Football Championship will also mark 25 years of Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA)’s affiliation to All Indian Football Federation (AIFF).
