ITANAGAR, Nov 14: As a part of Golden Jubilee Celebration, Dem Baptist Church, NBCC; Late Khoda Taha Memorial Volley Tournament kicked off at General Ground, Dem on November 13 amidst a huge gathering.
Late Taha was one among those pioneers responsible for establishing the church at Dem Village.
At least 24 teams from all churches under Deed Range are vying for the coveted trophy.
Vice-Chairman, Sports Authority of Arunachal, G Doke, speaking on the occasion said that religion and sports follow the same law of discipline. One has to be disciplined to succeed in religious or sports field, he said.
Vice-President, Karate Association of India Sensei Likha Tara, lauded the enthusiasm among the believers of Dem Baptist Church and wished for the successful conduct of the golden jubilee.
Meanwhile, stalls are setup at the Joram-Koloriang BRTF Road and all passengers taking this route and passing through Dem Village were served food for free.
