Students advised to avoid high risk behaviour

Naharlagun, Nov 14: Assistant Director (Youth Affairs) and Nodal Officer, AEP, APSACS, Koj Tara urged students to maintain discipline in their life by avoiding high risk behaviour to prevent acquiring and transmitting STI/HIV infection.
He was addressing students during an educational intervention programme on Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) organized by the Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS), Naharlagun at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya School, VivekVihar here on Monday last.
‘In Arunachal Pradesh, the ASPSACS in collaboration with the Directorate of Secondary Education, GoAP will cover 50 secondary and higher secondary schools of two priority districts of Papum Pare and Lower Subansiri district as per annual activity plan for this financial year’, he added.
Explaining the objectives, he informed that AEP is an educational intervention focusing on critical elements that would enable young people to deal effectively with the issues related to growing up healthy, including issues related to reproductive and sexual health, prevention of Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) & HIV/AIDS and prevention of drug abuse.
