Governor asks APCS officers to work in public interest

ITANAGAR, Nov 15: The objective of the administrative officers should be to serve the public and work in people’s interest, which is the very essence of democracy, said Governor Dr. B D Mishra while interacting with the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service probationers at Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday.
Stating that administrative officers are the main stay of the government and they have an important role to ensure good governance, the governor further said “They must evince transparency and accountability in their actions and decisions.”
Sharing his experiences with the APCS batch of 2016, the Governor also advised them to have long term prospective and keep national interest supreme in discharging their duties. He asked them to ensure that benefits of Government’s development plans reach the last man on the last rung of the society.
People judge bureaucrats by their actions and every action of yours must be oriented to improve the quality of life for the poor, he stressed.
Among others, Secretary to Governor, Vinod P. Kavle and Director, Administrative Training Institute, Pate Marik were present in the meeting. (PRO to Governor)
