Jee River Festival marks Golden Jubilee Year of Essi Riite UPS

AALO, Nov 16: The week-long golden jubilee celebration of Essi Rite Upper Primary School that coincided with first ever Jee River Festival, organized by Gumin Rego Welfare Society in the interior part of Tirbin circle got off to a flying start in the confluence of Hil Mil on November 14.
This school located on the right bank of Jee River withstood tests of time as a centre of elementary learning for the interior areas for the last five decades to produce many stalwarts from the rural areas.
Basar MLA and Parliamentary Secretary Gojen Gadi hailed the spirit of organizing such a mega event without any government assistances through community participation to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the school. He assured all help and cooperation from his side in future for such activities.
Lower Siang DDSE Pakgi Koyu Lombi assured to revamp all schools to fulfill all academic needs of rural schools through rigorous inspections.
Hayuliyang ADC Kego Jilen, a product of the school, who conceived the idea of organizing the river festival to mark the Golden Jubilee of Alma Mater, shared his inseparable bond and moments as alumni of the school.
Teachers of yesteryears, who were instrumental in shaping the school, alumni of the schools and well wishers too were felicitated.
The floating houses on Jee River, sleeping tents all along the river, beach volleyball, football tournament, river rafting, angling, various food stalls erected along the riverside to satiate the food needs at will and plenty of other extravaganzas to choose from the festival despite adversities on their side were something that bewildered onlookers.
Be it expenditure on house constructions, Pandal erection or sale of local food, all went into the coffers of village folk and maiden congregation gave people to meet and greet each other after long years of separation also.
The organizers said that the celebration was made possible through contribution/donations by alumni, well wishers and community effort. DIPRO
