Gorkha community celebrates Ramailo Tihar festival

NAHARLAGUN, Nov 27: The ‘Ramailo Tihar’ festival of the Gorkha community was celebrated on Sunday at Dree Ground.
Addressing the function, leader of Opposition and Palin MLA Takam Pario said that the Gorkha community’s service towards India’s progress cannot be forgotten. He remembered the dedication, labour, support and strength of the Gorkha Regiment in securing India.
He appealed to the Gorkhas to maintain the traditional and cultural value of the community.
Thanking Home Minister Kumar Waii for providing land for construction of a temple for the community, Pario extended his support for the cause of the unity and integrity of all communities in the state.
Bordumsa-Deyum MLA, Nikh Kamin also lauded the role of the Gorkha community in the development process of the state.
Chief patron and Borum ZPM Techi Tolu endorsed the demand for construction of a temple for the community and requested the Gorkha people to support the government in all development process.
Addressing the gathering, Arunachal Pradesh Gorkha Youth Welfare Association President, Shyam Ghatani elaborated the activities of the association.
Indian Idol Season 3 winner, Prasant Tamang enthralled the audience. Cultural teams from various districts of Arunachal and from neighbouring Assam also performed in the evening.
