PASIGHAT, Nov 28: Matri Sammelan or Mothers’ Conference, highlighting the significance of women’s education, their role in family as well as in society and contribution against social evils, was organized by the Donyi Polo Vidya Niketan (DPVN) at Pasighat on November 26 last.
About 400 delegates participated in the conference, which was chaired by Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women Chairperson, Mitali Tingkhatra and WASE General Secretary, Pasighat, Jaya Tasung Moyong.
Tingkhatra in her address emphasized on the importance of women’s health and urged mothers to treat their children equally. She also spoke about women’s contribution in preservation and promotion of indigenous faith and culture.
