State-level training held for farmers

DEOMALI, Dec 1: In all, 106 farmers took part in a Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Tirap organized day-long program ‘State Level Awareness-cum-Training on Promotion of Improved Technologies of Horticulture’ sponsored by National Horticulture Board at KVK conference hall here on Friday.
Namsang, Zila Panchayat Member, N. Songthing who inaugurated the programme in his address put emphasis on dissemination of new agricultural technologies among farmers to improve their livelihood.
SMS (Horticulture) Abhimanyu Chaturvedi elaborated the aim and objectives of the programme in brief and highlighted the major constraints of horticulture and its solution for Tirap district and the state as well.
ADO (I/C) Deomali, N. Ngnowa as resource person highlighted the modern development in agriculture and horticulture in the state as well as ongoing schemes of agriculture and horticulture department while, Senior Scientist & Head of the KVK Anjaw, Dr. Manish Kanwat gave a Power Point Presentation on ‘Technology Led Development In Horticulture: For Increased Production and Productivity’.
Senior Scientist & Head of the KVK, Tirap Dr. Indu also spoke on the occasion.
