Students demand facilities

LONGDING, Dec 2: The Khakam Students’ Union in a press release on Saturday sought to draw the Education Department’s attention towards the pathetic condition of the government primary school in Chingke and the government middle school in Khasa, saying the schools are faced with shortage of teachers and basic facilities.
‘The schools do not have basic facilities like electricity and water supply, teachers’ quarters, separate toilets for students and teachers, and even textbooks,’ the Union stated in the press release.
It appealed to the state government to direct the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to provide adequate teachers as well as basic facilities at both the schools.
